This has been a month of difficult weather. At the beginning of May, there were several ferocious thunderstorms, one of which caused some damage at Shikha – the beautiful bamboo pavilion was blown right off our roof! Luckily, nobody was injured.

Late in May, there was a heatwave, a week of intense temperatures of up to 45C. We suspended all work and training during the daytime, and only worked in the earlier morning and later evening.

Work had started on a new building, which is intended to house the deaf school, but the lockdown and the heat makes it very difficult to continue.
