We are embedded in a large agricultural region, so working with farmers is a priority. On the Shikha campus, chemical-free fruits and vegetables are growing, and we are learning about permaculture as well as traditional practices of ecosystems with desi cows. The Sustainable Agriculture initiative arose out of a workshop with local farmers where we learned together about Zero Budget Natural Farming, an Indian model for chemical-free agriculture. We are interested in the impacts on soils, yields, and biodiversity.
